The initiative was officially presented during a high-profile launch event attended by representatives from government, industry, and civil society. Developed in coordination with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the program’s objectives include advancing sustainable waste management, promoting the circular economy, and expanding partnerships across sectors. Ms. Rana Mammadova, General Manager of Coca-Cola Bottlers Azerbaijan, underscored the importance of collective action—by working with government agencies, youth organizations, and businesses—to drive meaningful improvements in waste sorting and recycling for a cleaner, more sustainable world. Set with a goal to collect 300 tons of plastic waste, the PACT program is currently being rolled out across five countries—Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan—with additional support from the Global Environment and Technology Foundation (GETF).
